Green Lantern Prep Gave me a Good Workout Blake Lively. BLAKE Lively says training for her role in upcoming movie The Green Lantern gave her the “best workout in the world”.

The Gossip Girl star has revealed how she got into shape for the new comic book flick.

“I had very few stunts to do in this film, but they required a lot of core strength,” explains Blake.

“I trained on this thing called the Matrix rig. It’s a 40-foot-long arm that’s about 30 feet in the air with this gyroscopic waist belt. The first time they put you up in it, you go crazy but it’s the best workout in the world because you’re using muscles that you don’t normally use.

“I was shooting in New Orleans, which has just some of the greatest food on the planet. I had two kitchens and I love to cook and I love to eat so training became something that was good. Otherwise I might have looked like Violet Beauregard (from Willy Wonka) instead of Carol Ferris.”

Lively recently revealed she dances to the Lion King soundtrack whenever she needs cheering up.

“[When I was four I was] walking down the street [and I thought] it’s the perfect day to be happy, and I never really lost that,” Blake explained.

“I’ve just always believed you should put a lot of positive out there. When I have bad days, I just eat lots of chocolate ice cream and dance to the Lion King soundtrack. It’s really odd, but it’s true.”
