Mother Arrested After Reported Assault LeBron James. LeBron James' mother Gloria was arrested at Fontainebleau Resort in Miami at 4:57 AM on Thursday morning, RadarOnline.com reports.
The Miami Beach Police Department tells Radar Gloria could be facing battery charges, although the case is still being looked at.
The Miami New Times reports that details on the arrest are scant so far. "There are currently conflicting reports as to whether or not she has been released from custody," the paper writes. "Though there are unconfirmed rumors that James, who is in her early 40s, got into a scuffle with a valet at the posh hotel."
UPDATE: A source tells Radar that Gloria "got into an altercation with one of the car parking valets who works for a private company contracted by the Fontainebleau. The police were called to the scene and she was subsequently arrested. It is not believed any alcohol was involved in the dispute."
Miami's Local 10 also reports that Gloria James allegedly assaulted a parking attendant.
Gloria was arrested in 2006 on suspicion of drunk driving. She was charged with "reckless operation, speeding for driving 50 mph in a 30 mph zone, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, disorderly conduct and damaging police equipment," Local 10 writes.
