Al Qaeda Releases Posthumous Audio Osama Bin Laden Recording

Al Qaeda Releases Posthumous Audio Osama Bin Laden Recording. WASHINGTON Shortly before his death, Osama bin Laden recorded a message praising the Middle East protest movements and predicting that revolutions would spread across the region.

"I think that the winds of change will blow over the entire Muslim world, with permission from Allah," bin Laden said in the 12-minute message released online Wednesday.

The message was released as a video, but it contains only an audio track and a photo of the terrorist leader.

Though both bin Laden and the West have generally supported protest movements in Egypt, Tunisia and elsewhere, their goals are very different. The West hopes the protests will lead to democratic reforms. Bin Laden and his followers saw many Middle East governments as corrupt and hoped their collapse would lead to government based on their interpretation of Islamic law.

n the recording, Bin Laden accused rulers of building themselves into idols and manipulating the media to stay in power.

"So, what are you waiting for?" he implored listeners. "Save yourselves and your children, because the opportunity is here."

Bin Laden was killed by Navy SEALs in a daring May 2 raid. U.S. intelligence officials were aware that the recording was in the pipeline. The video was released to jihadist websites by al-Qaida's media arm and was obtained and translated by SITE Intelligence Group.

Bin Laden was known to record many of his thoughts, and intelligence officials are poring over the recordings discovered in his Pakistani compound. But it's unclear whether he released any other recordings prior to his death or whether this is the final sermon from the terrorist mastermind.

Arnold Confessed After Maria Confronted Housekeeper About Love Child. Arnold Schwarzenegger did not voluntarily tell his wife that he fathered a love child with the housekeeper instead he confessed only after Maria Shriver confronted the woman, who admitted it.

Maria asked Mildred Baena if her son was fathered by Arnold and the housekeeper broke down and confessed, RadarOnline.com and Star magazine uncovered in a joint investigation.

Armed with that information, Maria confronted her husband, who also admitted it.

That’s the real story of how the love child scandal unfolded in the Schwarzenegger household.

In his only public statement about the matter, Arnold said earlier this week: "After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago.”

Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' Video New Star Sam Claflin

Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' Video New Star Sam Claflin. Starring perhaps the biggest movie star in the world returning in perhaps his most iconic role, "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," is without question Johnny Depp's movie. Add in legends Ian McShane and Geoffrey Rush as veteran pirates, and Penelope Cruz as a swashbuckler as well, and it's the topline of the marquee is already very, very full.

But when audiences leave theaters this weekend, they just may find themselves asking, who is that new guy?

His name is Sam Claflin, and audiences will soon become very, very well acquainted with him.

Claflin, a 24-year old Brit best known for his role in British miniseries "The Pillars of the Earth," plays Philip, a young missionary stuck on Blackbeard's ship and serving as the conscious of the ruthless' pirate's expedition to find the Fountain of Youth. With the exit of Orlando Bloom from the series after three films, Claflin is, indirectly, his replacement as the young heart throb of the saga. He made clear that he's well aware of that fact and the pressure it brings in a new interview with Movieline.

"There's not anything to describe the feeling I was going through! There was such a fine line between nerves and excitement and I was feeling both, so the adrenaline was doubly attacking my nervous system," he admitted. "No, but I definitely felt the pressure, especially to begin with to be consistently compared to sort of 'the new Orlando Bloom.' And he and Keira Knightley left very large shoes to fill and a high bar to match up to. I know that both me and Àstrid [Bergès-Frisbey, another newcomer] were kind of like, 'OK, we've really got to pull something out of the bag that's special.'"

While the audience has yet to weigh in on his performance the film hits theaters on Friday studios seem to be impressed. He was just cast as the Prince in the upcoming Kristen Stewart-starring "Snow White and the Huntsman," and will star alongside Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore in "The Seventh Son" later this year, as well.

Drops the Latina Sexy Bomb on Pages of SoHo Valentina Acosta Photos. Well, I don't want to start any inter-territorial telenovela disputes, but if there's anything more bitch slappier and hot naughty bad girlier than the Mexican soaps, it's some of the great los abogados and los doctores dramas from down Colombia way; not the least of the reasons being the super-telenovela actress and model Valentina Acosta, the delicious Silvia in A Mano Limpia. Oh, limpia. I don't feel so limpia when I'm checking out the sextastic and wonderfully topless Valentina Acosta in this month's SoHo magazine. I just want to be very sucio. Muy muy sucio. Sexy Funbag Figgling in Game of Thrones Video Esme Bianco Photos. Are you a fanboy yet for Game of Thrones. It's quite good, and I'm not just saying that for its weekly reveal of some of the finer assets and boobtastic on television. Well, mostly, but not entirely, especially like on the most recent episode where the delightfully fantastical Esmé Bianco flops and figgle all topless and wonderful for an important scene in the show that I really couldn't pay much attention to given that I was focused on on all the flopping and figgling of her most prized action-adventure funbags. Sometimes, work is hard. Enjoy.

Flash Two and A Half Things Men Love April Bowlby Bikini Photos. I'm not even sure what that means, but I am sure that April Bowlby, who you may know as bubbleheaded Kandi from Two and a Half Men, looks ridiculously sexy in her bikini on the pages of the current edition of Maxim. I could care less about the whole Charlie Sheen replaced by Ashton Kutcher offscreen storyline; I just want April Bowlby back. She is hawt in a hawt kind of way. Enjoy.

The Numbers behind Harold Camping's May 21 Claim Judgment Day Math

Advertisements

The Numbers behind Harold Camping's May 21 Claim Judgment Day Math. Maybe you've seen the ads on a billboard, on the subway, on the side of an RV. Maybe you've encountered the believers in person. However you found out, there's a good chance you've heard claims about something big happening Saturday, May 21.

That date, according to Christian radio broadcaster Harold Camping and his followers, is Judgment Day. This is no mere prediction, according to the Web site of Camping's Family Radio Worldwide: "The Bible guarantees it!" First will come a massive earthquake, powerful enough to throw open all graves. Then will follow a slow dying off of all nonbelievers until the end of the world in October.

An "infallible, absolute proof" of Camping's assertion rests on a head-spinning numerological argument about the number of days that have elapsed since Jesus was crucified. The date of the crucifixion is itself somewhat uncertain, but Camping takes it to be April 1 in 33 AD. Come May 21, 2011, Camping says, 722,500 days will have elapsed since that occurrence. And 722,500 is (5 x 10 x 17) x (5 x 10 x 17). Those numbers are important, according to Camping, because 5 symbolizes atonement, 10 represents completeness, and 17 is for heaven.

Why does 5 symbolize atonement? Here we turn to Exodus 30:15: "The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give an offering unto the Lord, to make an atonement for your souls." For those of you who prefer fractions, "half a shekel" would be 1/2 shekel; the decimally minded might favor 0.5 shekel. Camping is evidently in the latter camp; he takes this verse as evidence of 5's association with atonement.

The figures and math get wispier from there. To quote from Family Radio's "infallible proof": "The number 10 or 100 (10 multiplied by 10) or 1,000 (100 multiplied by 10) signifies completeness.... The Bible speaks of [Satan] being bound 1,000 years to signify that he was bound for the completeness of God's plan, which in actuality of time was 1,955 years." As for 17? "God instructed Jeremiah that this purchase of [a field] for 17 shekels was done as a guarantee or demonstration that the time would come that Israel would again occupy Jerusalem. That is, people again would go to Heaven."

Let's assume for the moment that the numerological treatment has some merit, that 5, 10 and 17 are somehow as biblically important as Camping believes. A purely mathematical complaint is that (5 x 10 x 17) x (5 x 10 x 17) is a completely arbitrary way to factor 722,500. A more concrete way to break down a large number into smaller numbers is to factor it into primes, which in the case of 722,500 yields the unique solution 2^2 x 5^4 x 17^2.

In other words, one could make a more compelling numerological argument for the importance of 722,500 if one started with a foundation of 2, 5 and 17 rather than 5, 10 and 17. (One could easily ignore the exponent 4, which is just 2 + 2, 2 x 2 or 2^2.) As noted above, atonement could just as easily be 2 or 5 (depending on whether one looks at "half" as 1/2 or 0.5), so why not both?

That's the problem with numerology, of course you can find meaning in just about anything, and just about any way you want, if you look hard enough. And the May 21 prediction is certainly not the first time that prognosticators have taken certain patterns (if one is so generous as to call them that) to be omens of import. As Scientific American columnist Michael Shermer noted in a Wall Street Journal op-ed, human history is threaded by predictions of the apocalypse. We at Scientific American have even speculated on several (nonbiblical) ways that the world as we know it might come to an end.

It should be noted that Camping himself has made such predictions and garnered news headlines before. Back in the 1990s he said he was "more than 99 percent sure" that the end was coming in September 1994. That date came and went, but this time Camping is absolutely certain. Given his fluidity with numbers, maybe he will be 110 percent sure the next time around.

Run The World Girls Video, Album '4' Revealed Beyonce Watch

Run The World Girls Video, Album '4' Revealed Beyonce Watch. Beyonce has been on vacation for over a year. By the looks of her new video, she hasn't missed a beat.

The superstar singer unveiled her new song and video, "Run the World (Girls)," on "American Idol on Wednesday (where she appeared as a mentor to the contestants), largely bringing back the elements that made her "Single Ladies" song and video mega hits: women's empowerment, and a brand new dance.

This video, though, ups the stakes, as it's set in some deserted African nation, with Beyonce and a cadre of women mesmerizing a gang of men who were foolishly set to take their headquarters. The song is the first single off her upcoming album, "4," which is set for a June 28th release.

In a recent interview with Billboard, the singer said she worked with the band of afrobeat legend Fela Kuti to gain new inspiration for her music, the first in a laundry list of influences for "4."

"I also found a lot of inspiration in '90s R&B; Earth, Wind & Fire; DeBarge; Lionel Richie; Teena Marie," she said, beginning her eclectic list. "I listened to a lot of Jackson 5 and New Edition, but also Adele, Florence + the Machine, and Prince. Add in my hip-hop influences, and you can hear how broad it is. I also gave myself more freedom to really belt out some songs, and bring soul singing back."

The End of the World May 21

Advertisements

The End of the World May 21. Is the world coming to an end May 21, 2011? Harold Camping says so. The Colorado minister insists Doomsday is this Saturday, so it must be true.

“The whole universe is going to be destroyed by fire," says Camping, who created a formula based on Bible verses to pinpoint the end of the world.

Apparently he's not the only believer. Some followers of his Doomsday theory have already quit their jobs as part of their preparations for the end.

May as well, right? Rapture trumps recession. Safe to say the 89-year-old minister and his backers side with Kirk Cameron over Stephen Hawking.

The 89-year-old uses rather sophisticated equations all tied to one date the date of the flood from Noah’s Ark. His faithful followers have embraced this.

Of course, there have been thousands of predictions tied to the end of the world or the apocalypse, and all turned out to be BS. So who knows.

If the end is but 48 hours away, we just have to say what an honor it's been providing you with celebrity gossip and occasional other nonsense such as this story - for all these years. From all of us at THG, we love you, readers.

The attorney, not the founder Facebook bans Mark Zuckerberg

The attorney, not the founder Facebook bans Mark Zuckerberg. An attorney in Indianapolis is Facebook free after being banned from the social network for sharing the name of its founder, Mark Zuckerberg. The lawyer's Facebook woes are already well documented, and in order to obtain his own social network page he had to go to such lengths as sending copies of his driver's license and birth certificate to Facebook's offices. He even went through the trouble of setting up a website to explain his unusual identity crisis.

When his account was deleted, the less-famous Zuckerberg inquired as to why the social network had given him the axe. Facebook representatives told him the reason was "false identity." The attorney notes that even while his account was up, his experience wasn't that of a typical Facebook user, and he would commonly receive hundreds of friend requests each day from people who just wanted Mark Zuckerberg on their friends lists.

The law-minded Zuckerberg isn't exactly hard to verify as being a real person. He's written several books on law topics and has his own law office specializing in bankruptcy. Still, that wasn't enough for Facebook's scrutinizing eye, and it took some time away from policing millions of underage users to erase Mark's account, an error that the attorney is hopeful will be resolved in short order.

Confirms Latest Tattoo Is for Brad Pitt Finally Angelina Jolie. Angelina Jolie has Brad Pitt permanently on her arm.

Jolie's latest tattoo sparked adoption speculation last month, when she revealed a new set of map coordinates on her arm, just underneath tattoos of coordinates of the birthplaces of her six children. But as PEOPLE.com suspected, the tattoo was in honor of Pitt, not a new child.

"Well if they know that it's latitude and longitude they would have figured out quickly that it was Brad's birthplace." Jolie told Extra on Wednesday. "It's Shawnee, Oklahoma."

QUIZ: Guess the Star Tattoo!

Jolie at the Cannes Film Festival promoting her new film Kung Fu Panda 2 also says there's no possibility of adopting at this time. However, her movie does deal with the subject of adoption and she was happy to watch it with her kids and talk about it.

"We talk very openly in our house, so 'orphanage, birth parents,' are happy words in our house, and it's not a thing," Jolie says. "It seemed very normal and they loved it."

Undergo Brain Surgery Mary Tyler Moore. TV icon Mary Tyler Moore is gearing up to undergo surgery to remove a tumor from her brain, the actress’ publicist divulged to PEOPLE on Thursday.

At the insistence of doctors, Mary, now in her 70s, has elected to undergo surgery to remove a meningioma. A benign tumor of the lining tissue of the brain, the growth is usually found in people over 60.

“At the recommendation of her neurologist, who has been monitoring this for years, and a neurosurgeon, Mary decided to proceed with this fairly routine procedure,” says her rep.

The veteran star broke ground in the 1960s playing Laura Petrie, one of TV’s original sexy housewives on the The Dick Van Dyke Show. She went on to find success playing Minneapolis career girl Mary Richards on The Mary Tyler Moore Show a decade later. The career, a trailblazer at a fictional television station, was among the small screen’s first depictions of a successful, single, working woman.

In recent years, Moore who lives with Type I diabetes has become an ambassador for treatment and prevention of the life-threatening disease.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery going out to Mary! We’ll simply die if we never again get to watch her toss her hat in the air…

Plus Size Model Advocate Passes Away Mia Amber Davis Dead. No cause of death has been given.

The beauty was best-known for her work with Ashley Stewart, being the face of Jill Scott's Butterfly Bra, a cameo in the movie "Road Trip," and serving as Creative Editor at Large for Plus Model Magazine.

In a statement for The Huffington Post, Jones said: "Davis was a wonderful wife, caring daughter and loyal friend who will be missed dearly. The PLUS Model Magazine family is deeply saddened by the loss of our sister and want to thank our readers for their support and prayers. Our June issue will feature Mia on the cover as a very special tribute to our angel."

The media doesn't showcase overweight people, overweight women are not seen in Hollywood. It's like, why are we being targets but we're invisible everywhere else?"

She added, "If you are gay, you can 'play' straight. If you are a certain religion, you can 'play' another religion. You can't hide the fact that you're overweight and nor do we want to. Lingerie Pictures Take Sexy to Level 11 Hope Dworaczyk Photos. It's easy to overlook Hope Dworaczyk. I mean, her name sounds like half the bespectacled heavyset girls my grandmother tried to set me up with through her church group during the period when she was convinced I was gay and going to share eternity with Beelzebub.

For the record, I was just in a horrible dating dry spell (as for Beelzy and me, it seems like a most certain destiny). But make no mistake about it, Hope Dworaczyk has little resemblance to any of grandma's sure things; this Playmate of the Year is such an underrated hottie, if that's even possible for a PMOY, that I feel obliged to stick up for her in some weird sort of older brotherly way (incest exceptions in full effect in this case).

Check out these Hope Dworaczyk lingerie pictures from her recent pictorial and see if you don't agree that this is just about the hottest a girl can possibly look with at least some clothes on. Enjoy.

TV Pilot Gets Fox Pickup The New Girl Zooey Deschanel's. Long the poster girl for the artsy indie crowd, her light touch voice fluttering through both records and beloved independent films, Zooey Deschanel is making the big move to mainstream, network TV.

Deschanel's sitcom pilot, "The New Girl," was picked up for next season by FOX on Tuesday night, meaning the actress will get her crack at charming a national audience. According to Deadline, in the show, Deschanel plays, "an unlucky in love elementary school teacher who moves away from her former boyfriend and in with three unruly guys."

In other words, fulfilling the unlikely fantasies of a lot of potential male 18-34 viewers.

Deschanel made her excitement about the pickup known all over the internet, tweeting last night "I am thrilled that our show got picked up & so excited to work with this great group of people!also know I'm getting humblebragged. whatevs."

Often cast as the sarcastic best friend or quirky object of affection, Deschanel has made her biggest on-screen impact thus far in the 2009 romantic darling "(500) Days of Summer," which paired her, a hard to get dream girl, with an earnest Joseph Gordon-Levitt. She played a small part as Belladonna in the recent stoner fantasy "Your Highness," starring Danny McBride, James Franco and Natalie Portman, and she'll play one of Paul Rudd's three beleaguered sisters in the upcoming "Our Idiot Brother."
