Shriver split Privacy in script for Schwarzenegger

Shriver split Privacy in script for Schwarzenegger. LOS ANGELES At times, the marriage of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver looked like a fairy tale come true. But the public record is replete with problems that would strain any union, and recent glimpses into their lives suggested something amiss with a couple who often waxed publicly about their love for one another.

Since his term as California governor ended in early January, Schwarzenegger has hopscotched around the world, his wife nowhere in sight. Shriver posted three Twitter updates on April 26, their 25th wedding anniversary, without mentioning the milestone.

On Monday, they announced they were separating. "After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion, and prayer, we came to this decision together," they said in a brief statement that could signal a private breakup rather than a public court battle.

On Tuesday, in his first public comments since the announcement, Schwarzenegger thanked friends and family for an outpouring of support.

"We both love each other very much," Schwarzenegger said at a Los Angeles event marking Israeli independence. "We are taking one day at a time." He also said he had spoken to Shriver earlier in the day.

If Schwarzenegger, 63, appeared confident about the future since exiting politics, cutting movie deals and fashioning himself as a global spokesman for green energy, Shriver, 55, known for her confidence, seemed unsettled.

Shriver appears without a wedding ring in videos posted recently on YouTube and talks about stress in her life, the weight of expectations and the search for faith in a troubled world.

"It is so stressful to not know what you're doing next," she says grimly in one online video posted in March.

Schwarzenegger has a temper and a biting wit, and there were occasional spats behind the scenes in their Sacramento days, but the marriage unspooled with a minimum of public drama. Shriver moved quietly out of the couple's gated estate a few miles from the Pacific Ocean, but they remain on speaking terms and had brunch with their children on Mother's Day.

In their statement, they said they would live apart, "work on the future of our relationship" and continue to parent their four children Katherine, 21, Christina, 19, Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 13. The only word from the family Tuesday came in a tweet from Patrick: "Small speed bump ... luckily we own (H)ummers, we will cruise right over it. All will be okay."

The announcement came just over 25 years after the couple wed on a spring day on Cape Cod. They seemed to have little in common aside from celebrity and a hunger for success: a Republican bodybuilder-actor with a history of womanizing, and a princess of the Kennedy clan who was a rising network newscaster.

Shriver, who lost two uncles to assassins' bullets, never wanted her husband to enter politics, but supported him when he did. After Schwarzenegger won a second term In 2006, they kissed on stage at a celebration rally as a blizzard of balloons fell around them and their children.

They entered their marriage with separate fortunes and legacies, and the script for whether and how they end that union largely depends on decisions they've already made.

They said in their statement they have not filed formal court papers. It is unknown whether the pair have any agreement that would divide up their assets, which include their secluded estate in Los Angeles and a home near the coast in Malibu.

Economic disclosure forms filed when Schwarzenegger left as California governor in January show he has interests in at least eight entities worth $1 million or more. An exact tally of his wealth is impossible to calculate, although the forms show the "Terminator" star still retains rights to intellectual property from his days as a fitness guru and movie star.

Shriver's holdings are more modest, but are listed in the disclosure as being worth more than $1 million. She is a member of the Kennedy family and is a beneficiary of some of its assets, and also owns rights and royalties from her work as an author, the filings show.

Shriver maintained her own identity when her husband entered politics, though she gave up her job at NBC. Their union was often tested in Sacramento, where the former action star contended with a rough seven years of legislative gridlock, a budget crisis and lingering questions about his fidelity.

Shriver stood by her husband during his 2003 gubernatorial campaign after the Los Angeles Times reported accusations that he had a history of groping women. Schwarzenegger later said he "behaved badly sometimes."

In 2006, Schwarzenegger settled a libel lawsuit with a former late-night British TV personality who claimed she was groped by the Hollywood actor during a 2000 interview and later defamed by his aides during the 2003 campaign. In 2004, a judge dismissed a similar libel lawsuit filed against Schwarzenegger by Rhonda Miller, who accused him of groping her.

While Schwarzenegger was governor, Shriver and their children never moved to Sacramento, preferring their homes in the Los Angeles area. Schwarzenegger commuted by private jet between his family and the state capital.

Shriver often lamented the loss of her TV job. More recently, she has struggled with the death of her father, Peace Corps founder and former vice presidential candidate Sargent Shriver, in January.

A separation doesn't always signal a divorce is imminent, said Charlotte Goldberg, a family law professor at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.

"Some people separate in order to try to work things out, to see if they can reconcile and come back together," Goldberg said.

That was the case for talk show host Larry King and his wife, Shawn, who kicked off a bitter divorce struggle last year before deciding to stay together. Similarly, actors David Arquette and Courtney Cox announced last year they were separating, but have yet to file any formal paperwork to make their split official.

Steve Mindel, a Los Angeles family law attorney with more than 25 years of experience, said the fact that the pair issued a statement rather than filing court papers signals they may be working toward a deal that will keep most of the details of their breakup private. Several celebrities have recently taken that course, including singer Christina Aguilera and comedian George Lopez.

Both of their breakups were announced through publicists before any paperwork was filed, and neither case produced acidic court filings that have become the hallmark of other stars' breakups.

Unless Schwarzenegger and Shriver have a property agreement, in California any assets they accrued throughout the marriage are split 50/50. Once they separate, their earnings become their own.

That may be significant for Schwarzenegger, who has said he hopes to revive the film career he placed on hold when he was elected governor in 2003. Shriver, a successful television journalist who is a member of Kennedy family, has said she doesn't foresee a return to on-camera journalism.

As for their two youngest children, Goldberg said they're old enough that they'll likely have some say in any custody agreement.

She and Mindel said the couple seemed to be handling the announcement of their split with class.

"They've gone through a lot together," Goldberg said. "Sometimes marriages fail even after a long period of time."

Voluntarily enters rehab Whitney Houston

Voluntarily enters rehab Whitney Houston. NEW YORK Whitney Houston is back in rehab. A representative for the superstar singer confirmed Monday that Houston is undergoing treatment. Kristen Foster says Houston is in an out patient program for drug and alcohol treatment. She says it is a voluntary measure and part of Houston's "long-standing" recovery process.

The 47 year old, one of the most successful singers in pop music history, has battled problems with drug addiction for years. But in 2009, as she released a comeback album, she declared herself healthy and clean.

However, her 2010 tour overseas was troubled: Houston canceled some dates due to illness and received negative reviews from fans who were disappointed in the quality of her voice and performance. Earlier this year, she gave an uneven performance in tribute to cousin Dionne Warwick at music mogul Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy gala.

It's unclear how long Houston will be in rehab or where she's being treated; Foster had no further comment. However, Houston has been visible recently: Last week, she sang on stage with Chaka Khan during Prince's concert in Los Angeles.

Prince William, Kate Royal honeymoon begins

Prince William, Kate Royal honeymoon begins.LONDON So the wait for a royal honeymoon wasn't so long after all.

Prince William and his wife, the former Kate Middleton, have left for a honeymoon at an undisclosed location, palace officials said Tuesday, declining to elaborate on the key details of where or for how long. They also requested the young couple's privacy be respected during that time.

British media widely reported they had jetted off to the Seychelles, an island chain in the Indian Ocean. William has two weeks leave from his job as a search-and-rescue helicopter pilot, but palace officials would not say if they will be away the entire two weeks.

After the media blitz surrounding their April 29 wedding at Westminster Abbey, the couple have made it clear they'd like to be left alone by photographers. A day after the wedding, the newlyweds asked the media not to intrude on their first weekend of married life, which they spent at home before William returned to military duty.

Privacy has long been a main concern for the royals while planning their honeymoon. They are thought to have considered private islands in the Caribbean although photographers on boats could conceivably get pictures of them cavorting on a beach  and hideaways in Africa, where William has traveled extensively in the past.

The couple's decision earlier to delay their honeymoon surprised many. While he went back to work, Middleton — now known as the Duchess of Cambridge  was snapped by photographers grocery shopping near the couple's home on the remote Welsh island of Angelsey.

The Seychelles is an archipelago of 115 Indian Ocean islands about 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometers) east of the Kenyan coast. A popular luxury destination, it lies outside the cyclone belt, so severe storms are rare, adding to the destination's appeal.

Srdjana Janosevic, the press secretary for the Seychelles' president, had no confirmation Tuesday that the royal couple had arrived or planned to vacation there, but noted they have visited the Seychelles before.

"Anyone who comes back and continues to enjoy the island, it just shows that it's a very desirable tourist destination," Janosevic said. "I think everyone would be happy if they are here."

The Seychelles has only about 90,000 people. While the British media feature constant stories on the royals, a top headline Tuesday in the Seychelles Nation newspaper was about an increase in pork and chicken production.

The top local topic is the country's May 19-21 presidential election, where President James Michel faces three challengers.

If the couple have chosen the Seychelles, it will be East Africa's second connection to the royal wedding. William proposed to Kate last October in a rustic log cabin on the slopes of Kenya's highest peak, Mount Kenya.

Both Kenya and the Seychelles are former British colonies.

Drops the Veteran Hottie Sexy Bomb on Pages of Playboy Argentina Photos Claudia Albertario. Have you ever been at that point in a relationship with your girlfriend or wife or mistress or long term paid escort when she decides that you two should try new things? I don't mean the guy fun types of new things either, I mean, like classes, activities, hobbies, museum visits, outdoorsy stuff, that kind of girlfriend suggested new things.

Such is how I found myself in an Ice Dancing 101 class courtesy of my inability to ever say 'no' to a person with a vagina. First, know this, I can't skate. And, like 99.4% of men in this world, I can't dance.

Combine the two with the need to get dressed up for something other than a wedding or a funeral, and you have what would become an epic relationship moment failure. Did I wind up punching an ice dancing teacher in the solar plexus that evening? Well, not according to my defense attorney.

But I was found girlfriend guilty and subjected to a punishment far worse than any penal system could provide yep, a season of watching Dancing on Ice on DVD. Screw waterboarding, that shit was torture.

Now, away from these horrible ice dancing memories to some wonderful ice dancing mammaries. Claudia Albertario, veteran Argentine TV actress and contestant on the local version of Dancing on Ice , all sexy and topless and nekkid on the pages of Playboy Argentina. Like a sexy salve for my emotional ice dancing wounds, this sultry Latina fires up the hotness factor to 100 bazillion degrees boobtastic in this delightful pictorial.

I may still fear water in its solid form, but I shall never fear lusting over the amazing likes of Claudia Albertario, some very good medicine. Enjoy.

Jiggles When She Wiggles for Beach Bunny Swimwear Photos Kate Upton . Okay, though a licensed judge of the boobtastic, I am almost forced to recuse myself from the case of Kate Upton and the spectacular jugtacular.

I mean, how is one drooling man to bear objective witness to the jiggling and wiggling sensational display put on by this stunning and fast-rising blonde model superstar? I don't want to come to my senses, I want to live in a world where the song, 'The Candy Man Can; plays on endless loop while Kate Upton's thunder pillows hypnotize me into a state of catatonic bliss.

Wowzer. I've always wondered how dudes attend these fashion shows and sit in the front row with a straight face, let alone without a program opened discreetly over their midsections.

I've never rushed a stage in my life (Boyz II Men '97 summer concert series excluded) but I think security would need to be called quickly were my two feet unshackled and my two hands unrestrained within live eyesight of the bodaciously bouncy Kate Upton. Enjoy.

Behind Their Separation Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver

Behind Their Separation Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. NEW YORK After 25 years of marriage, California’s power couple has announced their separation. Lloyd Grove on their groundbreaking relationship, the recent signs of strain, and what’s next for both.

It was a shock to the outside world Monday night when Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver announced their separation after 34 years together, 25 of them as husband and wife.

Marriages are, by definition, fraught with tensions and complications and theirs was no different. Never mind that they were California’s golden couple: he an Austrian body builder turned American movie star, she a glamorous member of the Kennedy clan. They had been through a lot together the untimely deaths of various Kennedy cousins in terrible accidents and a drug overdose, his open-heart surgery to replace a defective aortic valve, the death of his mother, the death of her mother, the constant intrusion of the tabloids and paparazzi, and the natural friction of two high-powered careers.

In 2003, when Arnold decided to run for governor of California as a Republican and was beset by lurid headlines about his penchant for groping women, it was Maria who threw herself in front of the oncoming scandal, standing by her man, warts and all, and assuring his victory in the recall election that toppled incumbent Democrat Gray Davis. On election night they shared a loving kiss, and his gratitude was effusive.

But now just days after marking their silver wedding anniversary with their four children aged 21 to 13 Arnold and Maria have split, possibly for good.

“This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us,” they said in a joint statement late Monday, prompted by questions from the Los Angeles Times about the state of their union. “After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion, and prayer, we came to this decision together. At this time, we are living apart, while we work on the future of our relationship.”

Maria was still living at the marital home, a lush estate in the hills of Brentwood, when I phoned her early last month about her husband, with whom I’d just spent a few days in England and France for a Newsweek story about his next act. She didn’t let on that there was trouble in the marriage, though I had sensed distance between them, months earlier, when I’d attended a book party for their eldest daughter, Katherine, and the proud parents arrived and departed separately, with hardly a word for each other.

When I called Maria was understandably blue about the recent death of her larger-than-life father, Peace Corps founder Sargent Shriver, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Usually forceful and focused she’d reluctantly given up her career as a successful network television anchor to become one of the more influential first ladies in the state’s history Maria seemed at loose ends. She was spending her days reading and responding to hundreds of condolence letters for her father. Her husband’s post Sacramento career plans seemed beside the point; she didn’t even know what her own future held.

"No matter what Arnold decides to do,” Maria told me, “I'm sure he'll have fun doing it, and it will have impact."

"It is so stressful to not know what you're doing next," she had mused in a March 28 YouTube video in which, as the L.A. Times noted, she appeared without her wedding ring. “I’d like to hear from other people in transition," she said. "How did you get through it? What were three things that enabled you to get through your transition?"

But, on the phone with me, she managed to find something supportive to say about her husband: "No matter what Arnold decides to do, I'm sure he'll have fun doing it, and it will have impact."

By most accounts, they fell for each other at first sight. They were inseparable after NBC anchor Tom Brokaw played matchmaker at a charity tennis tournament in 1977. They were married nine years later at a star-studded Kennedy wedding in Hyannisport. Maria, by all accounts, was instrumental in helping Arnold succeed in Hollywood offering savvy career advice and vetting his scripts. Later on, she was equally indispensable as a strange political bedfellow; the fact that she was a liberal Democrat and he was a moderate Republican played well in the blue state of California.

For the Newsweek piece, former assembly speaker Willie Brown told me Shriver had contributed mightily to whatever success her husband can claim: "Maria has been much more of a benefit to Arnold than Arnold has been to Maria."

Late last year, as his second term as governor was coming to an end, Schwarzenegger acknowledged as much when he self-published a lavish coffee table book about his adventure in politics as a keepsake for friends and supporters. The 407-page volume contained an admiring, 50 page tribute to “California’s First Lady, Maria Shriver, An Architect of Change.”

An accompanying essay noted that “Maria challenged the role of First Lady, assuming it as a job with real purpose and a platform to make a difference. She used her journalist’s eye to spot the needs of real people and combined that skill with a deeply ingrained passion for activism and service.”

And yet, he ran for public office against her wishes. When he announced his candidacy for governor on The Tonight Show without telling her what he was going to do he knew that Shriver and their four children didn't want him to run, largely because of the Kennedy family's tragic experience in politics. On March 31 over lunch in London, I asked Arnold if Maria was annoyed that he’d declared without letting her know in advance. “What else is new?” he answered with a chuckle.

But there were other reasons, too. "For Maria, it was just very painful what she went through never being asked when Sarge became the vice-presidential candidate in 1972, never asked when he ran again [for president] in 1976 this was a humiliating moment, the way she described it," Schwarzenegger told me last month. "My life is not the cleanest in town, so there were places where people could attack. She was concerned about that, and she was concerned that it could fail and be humiliating to her and to our kids."

The very public failure of their marriage, of course, could have a similar consequence.

“We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and the center of both of our lives,” they said in their statement. “We consider this a private matter, and neither we nor any of our friends or family will have further comment. We ask for compassion and respect from the media and the public.”

Likes to Party Breaking News Pippa Middleton. PIPPA Middleton is quite the party animal!

Sources say the busty sister of Kate Middleton made it her goal to mingle with the aristocratic set while studying English at the University of Edinburgh.

According to Britain’s Now magazine, Pippa shared a house with two dukes’ sons Ted Innes-Ker and George Percy.

“Pippa was always friendly, but she’d go into overdrive if she knew someone was holding a party on a private estate,” dished one insider.

“She was renowned for being the last one standing and would be more than happy to participate in drinking games.

“Starting off with white wine and flaming sambucas, it’d soon get raucous.

“At one party she even flashed her bra for everyone to see. She’s not shy at all.”

Taylor Swift 'Mean' Music Video With Lyrics Singer Takes On Critics Bullies. Taylor Swift has set her sights on a new target; instead of hitting out at the boys who break her heart, the country pop star is hitting out against music critics and bullies.

Swift's new song, "Mean," was inspired by some negative music reviews she received, and the new video expands the message to take on bullies and old timey villains. Wearing a number of outfits that of a barnyard banjo player, a lady in distress and, finally, a Broadway star Swift sings and swings at those who are unfairly critical of her act, and narrates the inner thoughts of a number of bullied kids.

It's an effective video, pitting Swift alongside the underdogs and dreamers. And because this is Swift's inspirational world, you can pretty easily guess who comes out on top.

In The Borgias Emmanuelle Chriqui Almost Topless Photos. I lust Emmanuelle Chriqui as much as the next guy watching certain Entourage episodes over and over again in slow motion in his basement apartment, so I'm as cosmically outraged as the next guy over the fact that this super hot brunette simply does not get full frontal onscreen, despite the virtual pleas of millions of men focusing their positive mental attitudes on just such a result.

So, with Emmanuelle, we take what hotness we can get, including this sexy scene from the current episode of The Borgias, the internationally produced series running on Showtime in the U.S. about some insidious bastards during the Italian Renaissance that I know I studied about in a college class that I simply can not remember. I probably would've paid more attention in school had we studied the parts of the Renaissance where sextastic Emmanuelle Chriqui gets almost topless in a see through nightgown for a wild sex scene.

Yep, I could've munched a Slim Jim and kept the eyelids in the upright and locked position for that. Enjoy.
